Spaghetti Sauce Recipe
This is my mom's recipe for spaghetti sauce, it is in my opinion, the standard by which all other spaghetti sauce's should be judged. It takes some doing, and makes quite a bit, the excess can be frozen and used later. It is also good sauce for many other dishes, lasagna, chicken parmesan, etc.

The Greedy Ents
- 1½ pound lean ground beef
- ½ pound 'Jimmy Dean Sage' sausage
- 1 large chopped onion
- 2 bay leaves
- 4 cloves of garlic (minced or pressed)
- 1 28 oz can diced tomatoes (Or you can just use another can of tomato sauce here too)
- 2 29 oz cans tomato sauce
- 1 12 oz can tomato paste
- ¼ cup store-bought Italian seasoning (Use a little less than all of it)
- 1 Tbsp garlic salt (more to taste)
The Sauce
- Cut up 1 large onion
- Put onion, 1 clove of garlic (minced or pressed), burger, sausage, and a healthy sprinkle of garlic salt and italian season in a large skillet over medium heat, and brown the meat well.
- In a crockpot, combine tomato sauce, tomato paste, diced tomatoes, bay leaves, 3 cloves of garlic (minced or pressed), Italian seasoning, and garlic salt.
- Drain grease from meat and add it to the crock pot, stir and leave to simmer for three hours, checking occasionally to stir and add garlic salt to taste. **Don't add too much garlic salt at once, the simmering will bring out the flavor, add a little, come back and test.
